Right at the heart of Strymonikos gulf, between the Thessaloniki-Kavala national road and the green-blue northern Aegean Sea, is located the village of Nea Vrasna. The village was in fact created when residents from the old village of Vrasna moved here. Today the population of Nea Vrasna is about 2000 people, a notable fact once you realize that this removal took place the past 40 years.

Today, Nea Vrasna are part of Municipal District of Vrasna of the municipality of Saint Georgios. Nea Vrasna village is part of the Municipality of Agios Georgios (Saint George) that also combines Asprovalta village and Ano Vrasna which is the old Vrasna village. The population of the Municipality has reached 6.500 people in the last few years; however, during the high touristic season, it raises up to 50.000 people.
The beautiful and clean shores fulfill all requirements that make the sea appropriate for swimming and have been awarded with the Blue Flag every year, since 1989. The visitors can find themselves leaving the beach and soon enough resting in shadowy places of mountainous landscape, hiking through picturesque routes. Nea Vrasna is situated at a distance of forty minutes from Thessaloniki. Access to the surrounding areas is easy and quick with daily excursions to Chalkidiki and Kavala. The village is located fifteen minutes from the Archeological Site of Amfipolis, where a variety of cultural events take place. In addition, ancient Stagira (Aristotle’s birthplace) is also in a fifteen minute distance. Kavala, a thirty minute drive from Nea Vrasna has the ancient theatre of Fillipon, where guests can enjoy cultural happenings during the summer period.
